A #MotherFunny NickMom Brunch

Now that Jaxson goes to preschool in the mornings, I have a few hours to myself. Usually I just sit at my desk and work, but I decided to change my mornings up a bit. I had some girlfriends over for a mom’s brunch-in to relax while our kids were in school. While we hung out, we caught an episode of Instant Mom on NickMom. Laughter releases endorphins and, boy, we laughed at the parenting antics of Tia Mowry-Hardrict.  (Remember her from the tv show Sister, Sister?)

Before we could start our moms morning in, we all needed mimosas and brunch. (Or you can try out the Playdate Punch recipe in the first photo.) My friend Lauren (above) has older kids so I go to her for advice when the going gets tough my kids. My friend B also came with her three-year-old, who played very quietly while we had some mom time.  NickMom sent me some funny coasters to get the #Motherfunny started. Seriously, what’s the weirdest thing your kid ever ate? Just two days ago, Jaxson tried to eat an acorn. Yes, you read that correctly. I’m not sure which I prefer, for him to eat boogers or acorns. At least I didn’t have to call poison control.

I’m new to NickMom on Nickelodeon, but luckily I was able to livestream an episode of Instant Mom beforehand. Your kids probably watch Nickelodeon in the mornings or during the day, but did you know there’s shows just for us? NickMom airs on the Nick Jr. channel every night at 10:00 pm EST. If you miss the new shows on Sunday night, you can catch again! (Please check your local listing as times may vary.) It’s a great way to unwind after a long weekend. Don’t forget your cocktail! I was able to hook my laptop to my television for our brunch and we watched the “Forty-Two Inches of Pure Evil” episode of Instant Mom. You should watch it. Warning: You will laugh out loud.

The two hours flew by and my husband returned home with Jaxson. While our moms brunch was short, I felt rejuvenated after hanging out with my girlfriends. Those mimosas didn’t hurt either. I think we’ll have to make our weekday brunch a regular get together.

I posted this photo on Facebook  and Instagram to see if any of my friends would ‘fess up. The coaster reads: The last lie I told my kid was _____.  I ended up being the one to own up to my lie.  I’ll share my answer if you share yours, deal?
