I’m tired of the turkey receiving all the attention at Thanksgiving.
While my husband loves roasting the turkey each year, my favorite part of the holiday dinner is making the side dishes. I put a call out to my fellow bloggers and gathered a list of easy delicious Thanksgiving side dishes, plus some of my personal favorites.
These easy delicious Thanksgiving side dishes will make a great addition to your menu:
A fresh salad breaks up all the heavy proteins and carbs that’s usually served at Thanksgiving dinner. For the past 3 years we’ve served a version of my tangy kale salad with cranberries and almonds. Make extra because kale doesn’t get soggy like most lettuces so it’s great for leftovers. It’s also a hearty salad if you have vegetarians coming for dinner.
Thanksgiving dinner is not complete without stuffing. While I’m a fan of cornbread dressing (that’s what we call stuffing in the south), I love how you can customize this fabulous bread stuffing recipe from How I Pinch A Penny with different add-ins like cranberries or sausage.
This simple but flavorful spinach orzo from Raising Dick and Jane will compliment your Thanksgiving turkey perfectly. Toss in some leftover turkey the day after Thanksgiving to turn it into an entree.
You can never go wrong with another salad as a Thanksgiving side dish. My beet salad with basil and goat cheese can be made up to two days ahead (just hold the cheese and basil until serving). The more dishes I can make ahead, the less juggling in the kitchen I need to do Thanksgiving day.
Need an alternative to the usual mashed potatoes? This hash brown casserole from When Is Dinner is easy to make and screams comfort food. I love hash browns for breakfast and can’t believe I’ve never considered making them for dinner. I’ll have to change that!

I hope you love the Hashbrown Casserole, we rarely have leftovers, but when we do, my husband swears it tastes better than the day before (and he hates leftovers!). Thank you for including them 🙂
