Searching for the Perfect Planner. Again

My planner runs out in 3 weeks. I’m old school and loved my paper BusyBodyBooks planner to keep track of my editorial calendar for my three blogs. (Yes, I said three. I’m crazy.) Last week, I discovered that BusyBodyBooks is no more. Cue sad music. I really thought I had found the perfect planner for me.

I’m not the only one of my friends who felt the loss. Several Facebook friends scoured the internet to find alternatives. What made the BusyBodyBooks so great was their grid system. While I used mine to keep track of my blogging duties, Dawn used it to keep track of her family’s activities. Taylor started using one after my recommendation. Heck, I’ve even recommended the calendar to you all.
Finding the perfect planner is a never ending quest. I love my Google Calendar, but I heart my paper calendar even more. I’ve been searching the internet for other options for those of you who are looking for a grid system weekly calendar like BusyBodyBooks.
Here goes:
Last year I spotted the Do It All Planner by Orange Circle Studio at Target and Sam’s Club, but didn’t buy it because I was already using my BusyBodyBook. At 6-3/4 x 8-1/4 x 3/4 inches, it’s about half the size of my original grid planner, which is a bonus for me. I’d like to be able to slip it into my purse when I’m traveling.
I also love the bright colors this planner comes in. It also includes stickers, but I’m not sure if I would use them. I just ordered the Bold Blossoms print and it should be here before I leave for BlogHer. I’m very excited to try it. The Do It All Planner sells for $14.99 on Amazon and is also available in different colorways.
A friend of Dawn’s recommended Mom’s Weekly Planner by Peter Pauper Press. Doesn’t that Folk Art Birds print look pretty? According to the one picture of their weekly spread, it looks like the grid is divided into morning, afternoon, and evening. That’s not how I use my calendar, but it’s easy enough to cross out and change it to whatever you need. Because it’s hardcover, this planner should be sturdy and last you all year. This one is slightly bigger the above at 9.2 x 7.1 x 0.9 inches. Mom’s Weekly Planner is currently $13.59 on Amazon, but retails for $19.99 and also available in different colors.

I found some other planners out there, like the gorgeous Erin Condren planners from Tiny Prints. It looks well made and customizable, but at $50, too much for me to take a chance that I might like like it. There’s also MomAgenda weekly planners which I haven’t tried yet. I won one of their daily planners, but it wasn’t a good fit for me. Weekly is much better. If you’re hardcore, you can head to DIY Planner and design and print your own.

Do you use a grid based planner? What do you recommend? I’ll post an update about the Do It All Planner after I use it for a couple of weeks.
