Dancing and Burning Calories with Just Dance 3 (Review)

Just Dance 3 027
Everyday my toddler asks to play Just Dance 3. Seriously. Several times a day. He’s addicted. He’s dancing so fast I can’t even take decent photos of him. See that red and gray blur up there? Yeah, that’s my toddler.
We’ve tried plenty several versions of the Just Dance series, and this is by far my favorite one. Like Just Dance, Just Dance 2, and Just Dance Kids; there’s a diverse selection of songs to choose from. My toddler really likes the hip-hop songs, and for some reason, the Britney Spears song. I’m partial to dancing to Katy Perry and Cee Lo Green.

The concept of Just Dance 3 hasn’t changed. We have the Wii version, so we just hold our remote in our right hand and (attempt to) follow the dancer on our tv. BUT there’s so much more than dancing. With JD3, you can unlock different modes by earning Mojo points (you earn these when you dance to the songs). So far we’ve only unlocked 3 modes, but I’m going to make hubby unlock the Flash Mob mode for me. I have a soft spot for flash mobs.

Ubisoft added a new feature that made the game more enjoyable for me. My Wii remote cheers for me while I’m dancing and after I’m done. I’m a sucker for positive reinforcement! Since the only time I feel like I have any kind of rhythm is when I’m playing Just Dance, I’ll take all the cheering and applause I can get.

We’re having friends over for Christmas and I plan on pulling it out. JD3 has a party mode. I can just turn on the game and it’ll just play song after song for us to dance to. Why did I not discover this mode until now? With the party mode, there’s no lull in the game when no one can agree on what song to dance to next. We’re going to have a dance-a-thon for Christmas!

Even if you already own Just Dance or Just Dance 2, you definitely want a copy of Just Dance 3. There’s more options, new challenges to unlock special modes, and positive reinforcement! You know you want to dance.

Just Dance 3 is available for the Wii, Xbox Kinect and PS3. Grab a copy from Amazon.
