In case you missed my announcement on Friday, we’re taking our first family trip to Walt Disney World! Our trip will be part work (for me), part family vacation. Well, it’ll be vacation for my husband and the kids. We just started packing for our vacation to the pixie dust filled resort. Disney will be fun, but it’s a lot of walking in the sun. Luckily, I’m stocked up with great Well a Walgreens products from for relieving pain and aches.

I’m lucky to have many friends who have taken their young kids to Disney because they answered all my burning questions. Based on their tips and different blogs, I’ve put together a Disney World Stay Healthy Travel Kit to throw in my suitcase.  I’m checking our luggage, so I wasn’t concerned about the sizes of our liquids. If you have a carry-on, it should be easy to find smaller versions of the liquid items.

I packed some basics and then some items specific for our family so customize your kit accordingly. I bought most of the items at Walgreens since the Well at Walgreens line is BOGO 50% off through the end of March. I love saving money and keeping my family healthy. I also rounded out our kit with items from my extras stash.

What’s in my Stay Healthy Travel Kit

Pain relief essentials. Let’s face it. Disney World is the happiest place on earth, but it’s HUGE. No matter how comfortable your shoes are, that’s a lot of walking and standing in line for our piggies. Our days might even involve carrying the kids when they get too tired. I’m prepared for those aches and pains. For adults, I chose Walgreens Pain Reliever Extra Strength Quick Gels. We had extra bottles of Children’s Advil, but take advantage of the BOGO sale at Walgreens and grab a bottle of Walgreens Pain and Fever Children’s Suspension Liquid  or the Infants Pain and Reliever for your kit. I also threw in a tube of Boiron Arnicare gel (not pictured).

Sun relief. I am totally ready for the beautiful 80F degree weather in Orlando. I’m not sure my skin is ready. That’s why I’m packing plenty of sunblock. I also grabbed a travel size tube of Walgreens sunblock in SPF 55 to throw in my purse while we’re walking the parks. I’m playing it safe with Walgreens aloe vera gel for potential sunburns.

Tummy and allergy relief. Since we’ll be dining out a lot more than usual instead of eating home cooked meals like we do at home, I added some Tums antacids. Don’t worry, I’m packing more than one roll. Not pictured, but equally important is our allergy meds. Our entire family has horrible spring allergies so this is a must have. We’ll also have plenty travel facial tissues packs in our various bags. You can never have too many tissues. To keep our immune system strong while we fight our allergies, packs of Emergen-C is also a must.

Germ Fighters and first aid. Lots of people means lots of germs. We mostly use soap and water at home, but for convenience at the Disney parks, I packed sanitizing wipes. They’ll also be perfect to wipe down dirty surfaces at the airport before we sit down for a snack. We also have antibacterial gel in our bags (not pictured).  Ideally, I don’t want to use them, but it’s important to pack a mini first aid kit. I love the ease of liquid bandage spray for small scrapes, but I also bought Walgreens antibacterial watershield bandages because it’s no fun when the bandages fall off in the waterpark (eww). Equally important are flushable wipes, because, uh, little kids.

Nasal Strips #WellatWalgreens #shop-I'm Not the Nanny

Mom’s Stay Sane kit. Last but not least are items to keep me sane during our trip. You might think these are optional but you’ll be glad you packed them. On top of the list is chocolate and other candies. The chocolate is for me and the other stuff is for the kids. We almost forgot Walgreens nasal strips for my husband, who snores even louder during allergy season. A good night’s sleep keeps me sane. Even Pixie the Cat agrees. I didn’t hesitate to return to Walgreens to pick up these strips, which luckily were also part of the Well at Walgreens BOGO 50% off sale.

Pack everything in clear ziptop plastic bags.

Before I put these items in my suitcase, I’ll take the bottles out of the boxes to make more room. Then everything goes into clear gallon sized ziptop bags. I like the ones with pulls because it’s easier for the kids to open an close. Clear is important because I want to be able to quickly grab the item I need.

Shopping for #WellatWalgreens #shop-I'm Not the Nanny

While I can’t plan for every contingency, I feel prepared for most health issues that might pop-up while we’re on vacation in Florida.  I appreciate that Walgreens is focused on helping its customers stay healthy so we don’t get sick. That’s why I’m being proactive about my family’s health while we’re on vacation.

Because of Walgreens’ Way to Well Commitment, from now until December 31, 2014, 1¢ from the purchase of every Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness product will support bringing preventative wellness services to local communities. #WellatWalgreens will donate up to $3 million! I am glad I stocked up on those nasal strips!

Have you ever put together a Stay Healthy Travel Kit? Is there anything I else I should bring with us to Disney?
