Friday Faves: Muppets, Pasta, and Disney World!

Kids at Muppets Most Wanted Screening-I'm Not the Nanny

Can I just say how happy I am that spring is here? Most of the snow on the ground has melted and I’m hoping that we won’t see anymore snow until next winter. Fingers crossed. I hope I didn’t jinx ourselves.

We’ve been doing lots of fun and exciting things recently and I wanted to share them with you.

So, I present our Friday Faves:

Muppets Most Wanted

Muppets Most Wanted The kids and I went to a screening last week and laughed our way through the sequel. It’s just entertaining for both adults and children as The Muppets was (which we own and watch constantly). In Muppets Most WantedConstantine, the world’s #1 criminal, is Kermit’s doppleganger. Yep, that’s the word that Sophia used to describe him.

Together Constantine and his #2, played by Ricky Gervais (aka Ricky Germ Face according to Jaxson), use the Muppets’ World Tour to hide their criminal dealings. Poor Kermit, in the meantime is stuck in a Siberian prison. Just like the opening number promised, there were plenty of songs and lots of celebrity cameos. My favorite character was the hilarious Tina Fey.

Muppets Most Wanted opens today and you should go see it! We’re going to see it again and taking my husband since he missed the preview. Plus the kids already asked to buy the movie soundtrack.

Disney’s Frozen on Blu-ray. We’re old school around here and still love our media on discs. I pre-ordered it on Amazon. Since it arrived on Tuesday, I’ve watched the movie three times. We’re supposed to watch it again tonight for Friday movie night. It’s a good thing I like it. We bought the version that also comes with the digital copy of the movie. Disney has a new iOS app called Disney Anywhere that syncs to your account so you can download and watch your digital movies from the app or any device (via the web). If you download it now and sync it to your iTunes account, you’ll receive a digital copy of The Incredibles. Which we didn’t own. Woohoo!

Have you seen my video playlist of the Frozen sung in Vietnamese?

Annies Frozen Entree lasagna

Annie’s Frozen EntreesI think my kids could live on pasta and cheese alone. Unless I waved a steak in front of them. (I raised them right.) I always have a box of Annie’s Mac & Cheese in our pantry for dinner emergencies. Or when we’re too busy. I’m a fan of Annie’s products because they’re made with real ingredients, no artificial colors or synthetic preservatives. Plus they taste good and my kids love it. Which is important.

The folks at Annie’s gave us a coupon to try their new family sized frozen entrees and I picked the lasagna with meat sauce. I was tempted to choose the butternut squash mac and cheese but my kids will totally taste the butternut squash. The kids both had seconds so I take that as a good sign. While the frozen entrees are billed as family size, our carb loving family could easily two boxes worth, even with a side of broccoli to round out our meal. (They’re pretty new so we had a hard time finding them at first. I struck out at Whole Foods but found them at Target. Go figure.)

House of Cards. Finally, both my husband and I were awake enough at the same time to finish season 2. The end of so satisfying. I know Frank and Claire Underwood are manipulative and calculating, but I find myself rooting for them.

We’re going to Disney World! It’s our first family vacation at Disney World. I’m attending Type A Parent Boot Camp at Disney World so we’re turning it into a family vacation. Except for my husband, it’s our first time a the resort. The best part? The kids have no clue they’re going. We’re going to wake them up next week, and, instead of taking them to school, we’re going to the airport!

If you have any tips about visiting Disney, please leave them in the comments!

Less you think all I do is watch tv and movies (ha!), I’ve shared some new books I’m excited to read.

What’s your favorite thing(s) right now?
