My 2 Year Old Zumba Partner

A week ago, I begin a deliberate path towards becoming healthier and fitter (fitter? more fit?). My toddler is completely obsessed with our Wii. We don’t normally play any video games during the week, just the weekends. He thinks my Zumba Fitness game is cool, so he’s become my zumba accountability partner. He brings me my Zumba belt (to hold the Wii remote) and the game. “Let’s do Zumba, mommy!” he tells me.

How can I resist such cuteness? We do a song or two together and he cheers me on. Freaking adorable.
So far, I’ve done Zumba three times and have tried to fit in some Wii Fit Plus on some of the other days. I feel pretty good about it. Hubby is going to join me in doing some Zumba so I guess I better get him a belt!

The fun of logging my food intake has worn off but I’m still doing it. Yesterday, I totally ate more calories than I planned to. But I guess one bad day a week is ok, as long as I’m good the rest of the week. Right? I’m glad that my FitBit has made it so easy to track my calories consumed and calories burned.
The FitBit Ultra has also helped me see trends in my physical activity. The days that I have errands to run or take Jaxson out to the park are the days I log the most steps. Walking around Target takes a lot of steps! When I worked from home this past Friday (and hubby took Jaxson out to the park) I barely logged in half of my usual daily steps. I guess I need more errands to run?
Next week, I will be traveling for two conferences, which means I’ll be gone for an entire week. I think I might just give myself a pass while I’m at Blogalicious
Did you work out this weekend?
