While this post is sponsored Tropicana Essentials® Probiotics, I’m truly cutting back on coffee (gasp!) and wanted to give you a peek inside my bullet journal.
This time every year, I obsess over two things: how I want to set up my bullet journal planner and incorporating healthier habits into my daily routine. I got smart this time. I added a habit tracker to my bullet journal to stay on task.
I’m not a fan of resolutions. I’d rather make lifestyle changes because my brain rebels at the word “resolutions.” I want to create better routines that encourage me to be healthier. I work from home, so it’s easy to sit in front of my computer all day–eating snacks, drinking too much coffee and not enough water.
Here are the new, healthier habits I want to add to my daily routine:
- Drink only 1 cup of coffee a day (gasp!)
- Drink more water
- Take my vitamins, especially vitamin D
The scariest thing for me is cutting back on my coffee. January is cold, and a mug of hot coffee does wonders to warm me up. I love my coffee. Most days I drink 2-4 cups of coffee. That’s way too much caffeine! BUT I know I can do cut back.
I decided the easiest way to swap out my first coffee of the day with something that will help my body. In the morning–before my first cup of coffee–I have a glass of . I’ve mostly cut out dairy from my diet, so I’m glad to have found a 100% juice that delivers live and active cultures to my gut. I was worried that the juice would be too sweet at first, but there’s no sugar added. My favorite flavor is , but my husband prefers the .
Taking a daily vitamin is on my list because in the past I’ve been awful about taking mine. During my last check-up, my doctor informed me that my vitamin D was very low. I know as a woman, I should also add calcium supplements. I figure if I take my vitamins with a glass of Tropicana Essentials Probiotics, I’m getting everything I need. Especially since one serving of juice provides a day’s vitamin C!
Now that I’ve decided on my new habits, I want to track them. In my weekly bullet journal spread, I drew a grid for my habit tracker. The great thing about using a bullet journal is that you can create the tracker in a way that works for you.
My brain rebels against anything that feels too committed, so I opted for a weekly tracker. If I tried anything longer than that–I feel like I’m being told what to do. I hate that. It’s silly, but that’s what I do.
Set yourself up for success, I say. So I created a grid that is easy to use. Mine is a simple grid, marked with days of the week. On the side, I’ve listed the items I want to track and how it’s tracked:
-
- Coffee: 1 box= 1 cup
- Tropicana Essentials Probiotics: juice 1 box=1 glass
- Water: 1 box is divided into 4 triangles. I keep a 20 oz reusable water bottle on my desk. Each time I empty it, I color in a triangle.
- Vitamins: 1 box=daily vitamins
- Writing: I want to write every day, so each day I write is also tracked.
As I do each item, I mark them off or color them in with a different color pen. Hopefully by the end of the week, I’ll have a visual of how I’ve succeed achieving these daily habits.
So far I’ve been doing well. Pouring myself a glass of Tropicana Essentials® Probiotics juice before my daily coffee has made cutting back on coffee easier, along with keeping a filled water bottle at my desk. Obviously, I can drink the juice anytime I want, but I’m associating the deliciousness to my morning routine. If you want to add it to your daily routine, Tropicana Essentials® Probiotics is available next to the other refrigerated juices at Walmart.
I can’t wait to see my tracker filled out at the end of each week!
What new habits are you trying to add to your daily routine?
