Red is my power color.
Red is the dominant color in my closet and even my prescription eyeglasses are red. To say I love wearing it is an understatement. Back in February, I bought this gorgeous dress from Modcloth on a whim. As someone who’s plus size and a Libra, I don’t usually order clothes off the internet on a whim. But how could I resist this fit and flare dress in true red?
ModCloth is what you’d call “vintage glam.” Totally my style. And when the Moxie Must Have Dress arrived, it fit like a glove. All I needed was for the weather to warm up so I could wear it outside!
I’ve worn it three times now. The photos here are when I wore them at Disney Social Media Moms Celebration–thus the mouse ears. I get boatloads of compliments every time. The cut of the dress makes my curves look good and that keyhole offers some sexiness without going overboard. You could probably wear it to the office if you throw a cardigan or blazer over it. (If bright red isn’t your thing, it also comes in black.) The fabric is thick enough not to worry about panty lines, but not so thick it gets hot in the summer. And it’s super comfortable!

This is my third dress from ModCloth, and the second one I’ve kept. What I love about ModCloth–besides their cute dresses and tops–are the community reviews and sizing help. The community even posts photos of themselves in the clothing so you can see how it looks on all body types. The descriptions (and reviews) will tell you if you should size up or down, depending on the cut of the dress. In the case of the Moxie Must-Have, it’s true to size and I agree. I’m wearing it in a 1X with a very supportive push-up bra (gotta take advantage of the keyhole neckline!).

I almost bought this super adorbs fascinator headband to go with the dress, but wasn’t sure when I’d have an occasion fancy enough to pair the two together.

ModCloth also has plenty of cute jewelry and purses/bags that are on my wish list. However, I’m definitely buying some summer dresses because I’m headed to Louisiana in a few weeks. It gets hot there and I don’t like to wear shorts.

LOVE Modcloth! Their return policy is pretty good, too! I have the Hepcat dress in black, but it requires a slip so I don't wear it very often. Luck Be A Lady would probably look great on you! I have that one in a coral color.

Mod cloth has the cutest coats too, which is tricky. Coats are usually pretty dull.
I've had the Hepcat dresses on my wishlist for a while. But, my favorite dress from Modcloth is the "I Love Your Dress" – http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses/i-love-your-…. I got it in Olive 2 yrs ago. This year I bought it in black, gray, and the navy stripe. I'm just waiting for the purple and the royal blue to have my size back in stock. Then I'll have all 6 colors and they're pretty much the only dresses I wear now, plus the Easygoing Ending Dress – http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses/easygoing-en…. They all are so flattering, fit great, and I love the soft feel of their light jersey knit fabric. 🙂
Those two dresses are really cute! I've looked at I Love Your Dress before but none of the colors jumped out at me.
