Our Annual DC Crawfish Boil in Photos

This past weekend was our annual alumni DC area crawfish boil. I block the date on our calendar as soon as the date is announced. We have yet to miss a year! We hang out with friends, eat as much crawfish as we can peel, drink beer and talk about those Louisiana college days.

It’s nice to have a little bit of Louisiana in DC. Even if they truck it up from Louisiana. It’s more authentic that way. (Thanks Shavers Catering) By the way, Louisiana Crawfish Co Creole seasoning is 100x better than Old Bay. #justsaying I’ll have to stock up when I visit my parents this summer.

YUM. You can’t see it but there’s also hunks of sausage in there. The coolers keep the crawfish hot until they’re served to us.

The weather was beautiful. Not too hot in the shade and plenty of relaxation with my honey.

Even the kids had a great time. The guys who cooked the crawfish gave every kid who requested one a live mudbug to play with. This was one of the rare moments they were sitting down.

My friend Brandon wearing beads featuring our alma mater. No, I didn’t attend that Northwestern University. We went to the one in Natchitoches, LA where Steel Magnolias was filmed. It’s the small town’s claim to fame.

Can’t wait for next year’s DC crawfish boil!

Have you ever eaten crawfish or gone to a crawfish boil?
