Last week, I shared showed you how I combined weekly sales at Safeway with coupons to keep my grocery expenses lower. With the money I save, I buy fresh produce (which can be expensive). Now Safeway has another way you can save money at the gas pump with their Rewards Points program. They even offered a $50 Safeway gift card to one lucky reader.
If you already shop at Safeway, it’s super easy to save at Exxon and Mobil gas stations. All you need to do is a free Safeway Club Card. Make sure you use it every time you shop because you’ll earn one point for every dollar you spend (restrictions apply). For every 100 points you earn, you’ll receive 10 cents off per gallon and up to $1 on a single fill up. Have you seen gas prices lately? That’s a significant savings.
I not a regular Safeway shopper so I was excited to try out the program. It was super easy to sign up for their Club Card. I walked right up to customer service and walked away with my card. We have several participating Exxon gas stations within a mile of our home so I don’t have to go out of my way to take advantage of the gas savings. I’ve been looking at my Safeway sales flyers in a new way.
