Looking For a New Read?

I’ve been a reading machine in January. As of the end of the month, I’ve clocked in at 10 books. I think I’m on track to read 100 books for this year. I’m not counting my chickens before they hatch though.

I even managed to write reviews about some of them  on my book blog From Left to Write. If you’re looking for your next book, see if any of these pique your interest.

If you like cozy mysteries, you’ll enjoy Mary Jane Clark’s Footprints in the Sand. Piper Donovan is wedding cake baker/decorator and an out of work actor. Piper and her mother are in Florida for her cousin’s wedding, not just as guests to they’re baking the special cake too. However, the discovery of a dead bridesmaid puts a cramp on the wedding plans. Read more about the book.

Want to know how the elite live in New York City? In Cristina Algers’ The Darlings, see how the high society Darling family deals with a crisis that will rock Wall Street and the rest of the investment banking world. Read my review.

Scent of Darkness by Margot Berwin was my absolute favorite read from January. At the age of 18, Evangeline’s grandmother leaves her a secret scent that changes her entire life. Once on, there is not way to reverse its affect. Evangeline discovers that with her special fragrance, no human can resist her. Is it a curse or a blessing? Read my review.
