Big Things Are On the Horizon

Whenever I feel overwhelmed or tired or burned out, I try to think about the big picture. I painted this card to remind myself that big things are coming. While the things I do everyday might seem minute or tiring, there’s a reason I do what I do.

A friend pointed me a very thoughtful blog post by Kaneisha Grayson titled Let It Be Big. I met Kaneisha on the very last day of Blogalicious, which was a bummer because we didn’t get to chat for very long. Kaneisha, who wrote a book titled Be Your Own Boyfriend, shares how she constantly has wonderful new business ideas.. Here’s some the litmus test she uses when she has a new idea:

Is this what you really, really want? Because whatever you put your time, energy, and attention on, you are most likely going to get. Is this what you want to ask of the Universe? Is this what you want to be known for in the world?

I think it’s an excellent litmus test for the new ideas that bounce around in my head. One big thing at a time, right?

When I do feel overwhelmed or burned out, it also means I need a break. So this weekend, I’m curling up with some wine and a book. It’s good to remind myself that downtime also feeds the soul. As do wine and bubble baths.

Hope you’re having a great weekend!
