Korean Style, Gangnam Style!

I guess I’ve been under a rock the past couple of months because I just learned about Psy, a South Korean singer (rapper? pop star?). His song Gangnam Style came on Pandora one afternoon. I only noticed the song because I realized the song wasn’t in English. The very same day, Sophia starts talking about the song. One of her classmates was telling her about it.

So off to YouTube we went to see what the big deal was. There’s a totally silly dance in the video. The kids think it’s hilarious. Jaxson mimics the dance moves.

Psy even made an appearance on The Ellen Show, where he teaches Brittany Spears the dance moves. He even gives them advice, “I dress class, but I dance cheesy.”

It’s always fun for me to see an Asian celebrity become famous in the States. Especially when it’s for their talent and merit instead of being a silly stereotypical Asian person.
