Christmas was a slow and lazy. We carefully opened the gifts under the tree, each taking turns. While the kids played with their new toys, I made a hearty breakfast of cheese frittata, grits, bacon and cinnamon rolls. Once breakfast was done, hubby and sister hung out with the kids while I took a nice long shower. Long enough to have time to shave my legs.
I made a huge pot of gumbo for lunch and dinner. In fact, there’s still plenty leftover. I’m looking forward to another big comforting bowl of chicken, turkey, sausage, orka and shrimp tomorrow.
The kids played with their new toys throughout the day. Even though my ears hurt from Jaxson’s new drum set, I loved watching him play them with wild abandon. Sophia and I built a little house and horse carriage with her new pink themed Legos, a gift from my sister. It was my first time really playing with Legos. I can see how they can be addictive.
It was a nice, easy Christmas. Perfect.
