Ice Cream Sundaes + Wii Play Motion = FUN!

Wii Play Motion Party

This past weekend, I hosted a Wii Play Motion party for some of our friends. Before we had kids, we entertained quite often, and well, I don’t even remember the last time I had people over. Hosting a party is great motivation to clean your apartment! I’ll have to credit hubby for doing most of the work.

It was supposed to be an adult party but we let Sophia stay up past her bedtime to hang out with her fellow curly haired, pink loving friend, Marcy. Marcy arrived early so the two of them could spend some time together. They helped decorate our living room and then made headbands out of the pink streamers.

We even broke out the Wii Play Motion game early. The first game we had to play was the Cone Zone where you hold your Wii remote like an ice cream cone and try to balance it while the game throws on more and more scoops of ice cream. It was fun watching everyone lean left and right as they balanced their cones.

In keeping with the theme, we had an ice cream sundae bar, with toppings galore. I made sure everyone made two sundaes with lots of whipped cream.

The games were really fun. It was super easy to switch players with each game. Everyone was really impressed by the Grappling Ghosts game. Each person waved their Wii remote around the room looking for ghosts. Whenever they were near a ghost, the remote would beep. The player would have to “grab” the ghost, bring it back to the screen and capture it. All the other players help hold the ghosts down, Ghostbusters style. It was a fabulous concept!

One of my favorite games is the Veggie Guardin’, which is like whack a mole. Up to 4 people can play this game and it’s a great way to get rid of some aggression.

We had a blast. Hubby and I decided that we need to entertain more, even host some more parties. Playing Wii Play Motion was a good way to keep people moving. It gave us a chance to talk to different people as we swapped players for different games.

Time to plan our next party!

I received a Wii Play Motion party pack to host the party including the game, remotes, party favors, toppings and a gift card for ice cream. I wasn’t required to blog about the party. Affiliate links are included in this post.
