What’s Your Vision?

What’s your compelling vision?

What makes you want to get up in the morning?

In my 9 years being in Passion Parties, that question is tossed around quite often. At first glance it seems easy to answer: a new car, a house, an island vacation.

Look a little deeper. Why do we really want these things? That’s where the soul searching begins. Without knowing why I want (IF I want) these things, how can I truly be motivated to succeed in my business?

I’ve always had trouble answering this question. My friends seemed to know exactly what they wanted. A gold BMW with fancy stripes on the side. A 3 story beach front house. It was challenging for me to envision myself sitting in some fancy home with 6 bedrooms, a patio, and a pool. Of course I love the idea of owning nice shiny things and having lots of money so I can spend my days on the beach.

That’s just it. I love the idea.

Last night, one of my leaders reworded this question. I’ve been in Passion Parties long enough to experience a lot of ups and downs in my business. My leader asked me about my journey in the business and asked how Passion Parties fit into my life now.

Then she said, “Envision your business and your life. What are the conditions that surround you that make you happy?”

It’s basically the same question. But you know what? She didn’t ask me to list the material things I wanted to own in my vision of success. She wanted to know what would make me happy. I don’t know about you, but that’s big for me.

I’m not a fan of who dies with the most stuff wins. I’m always telling hubby we have to purge things. Sure, I hoard craft supplies hoping one day I’ll actually have time to use them. But I don’t go out shopping because I’m feeling blue. Would I feel the same way if I had more expendable income? I’m not sure.

In the past, because I had such a tough time coming with my vision and what kind of material things I’d have once I became successful, my friends told me it was because my deserve level was low. Meaning that I didn’t believe I was good enough to own a BMW or a fancy home.

Last night, after this call, I felt validated. The stuff around me is not going to ultimately make me happy.

In my vision, I’m surrounded by good friends and family, eating delicious food and toasting with appletinis. Somewhere in there I’m teaching crafts and creative living. I’m making beautiful things that will make women of all sizes love their body just the way they are. I’m still teaching women how to take charge of their pleasure.

Oh, and I have a cabana boy to bring me drinks with paper umbrellas and give me foot massages.

Do you know what your vision is?
