Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Musical Returns to DC (w. Giveaway)

I have a weak spot for show tunes. That’s no surprise considering my background in theatre. I’ve constructed costumes for dramas, comedies and other straight plays. Musical theatre is always a crowd pleaser and I’ve worked on numerous shows. Something about the memorable songs, the flashy costumes, and the big dance numbers always put a smile on my face. 
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is coming to the National Theatre this June, and I’m looking forward to the songs, the dancing, and of course the happy ending. The story of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is a classic in our household. The musical is based off the Disney animated movie, but has additional songs with music Alan Menken and lyrics by Tim Rice. I have friends who have worked backstage for NETworks Presentations, the production company, and the shows blew me away. (During the summer after sophomore year in college, I almost took a job touring on one of their shows, but silly me decided it would be better to finish college first. I think I made the right choice.)

Beauty and the Beast will only be at the National Theatre for two weeks, June 12 through June 24. Why am I telling you this now? Because tickets are now on sale via Telecharge. You’ll have to wait until May 21 to buy them at the National Theatre’s Box Office. Tickets start at $56.50 plus service charges. If you want to see it, I recommend you buy them early so you can get some good seats.
