Last night I took the train up to New York City for Book Expo America. The nerd in me is super duper excited to be surrounded by books, authors, and people who love book! Today is the start of BEA Blogger (formerly Book Blogger Con). While it’s going to be fun, I’m going to be networking and scoping out books for my virtual book club From Left to Write.
I finally got to meet my roommate, Pam of The Unconventional Librarian, in person. She’s not a stalker! Whew! Pam is fun and likes to chat as much as I do! When she got on the train, Pam immediately told me we were meeting YA author Meredith Zeitlin for dinner. Meredith was very down to earth. We had a great time.
We met a really fun restaurant called Vynl. They had four bathrooms to choose from. I chose the loo marked “Cher” and inside was a wall mosaic of Cher. Of course I had to take a photo it. I avoided taking photos of my food because I didn’t want to look too much like a tourist.
Bonus: while Pam and I waited outside the restaurant for Meredith, Neil Patrick Harris walked by! No, I didn’t talk to him or do anything like that. I just watched him walk past me. That was enough for me.
Other news, my post “Is Interracial Love Worth it?” was chosen as one of the BlogHer’s Voices of the Year! It’s a big honor to be chosen and I’m in amazing company. If you have a chance, check out the other bloggers chosen.
