Book Review: Spark & Hustle by Tory Johnson

Even after running a business for over 10 years, I still don’t know everything. If I stop seeking and learning, my business will stagnate. When I had the opportunity to review Tory Johnson’s latest book, Spark & Hustle: Launch and Grow Your Small Business Now, I jumped at it. Last December, I attended a session of Spark & Hustle, on which the book is based. Johnson is a founder and CEO of Women for Hire, which produces recruiting events for women across the United States.

This book is great for any woman who wants to start her own business or currently has one but wants to become more successful. Tory Johnson begins by sharing her story, her motivation for starting her own business. I think most of us can relate to her desired to be able to control her career and provide for her family. Scattered throughout the book are case studies of successful women entrepreneurs as well.

Success stories are inspiring, but it’s the actionable tips that make this book valuable. Spark & Hustle is also a workbook. Johnson forces potential small business owners to answer questions that will define and focus their business ideas. She also names specific vendors that will help owners delegate tasks and keep their business running smoothly.

While I haven’t finished the entire book, Spark & Hustle shares advice about marketing your service or product, using social media, how to manage your time and more. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of it. Check out an excerpt above.

If you’ve ever considered starting your own business or want to know how you can improve your current one, grab a copy of Spark &; Hustle by Tory Johnson. Owning this book will be like attending one of her live Spark & Hustle sessions, except your won’t get a hand cramp taking notes.

I received a copy of the book for review. All opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links.
