I’m not sure how well Once Upon A Time did in ratings last season, but it was one of the few shows that hubby and I watched together. As someone who loves fantasy fiction, I found the real versus fairy tale parallel stories intriguing. The tv show was just dark enough to keep it interesting.
I recently found out that the Mulan, played by Jamie Chung, is making an appearance on the show this upcoming season. Disney owns ABC so they are using their versions of fairy tale characters in the tv show. Sure, it’s more common to see Asian and Asian American faces on television these days, but I feel like half of those are reality shows and another third are stereotypical roles.
I’m excited to see a strong Asian woman on a television show. According to the blurb on TV Guide, Mulan will be in her warrior gear. I hope she kicks some butt!
