2013 Holiday Gift Guide For Foodies

Holiday Gift Guide for Foodies

I’m excited to present my 2013 Holiday Gift Guide for Foodies. I think foodies are some of the toughest people to shop for because we’re particular about what we eat. I like to say my palate has high standards (but nothing wrong with McDonald’s french fries either).  Here are some items that the foodie in your life would love to receive this holiday season. (Some links are affiliate links.)

Love With Food Subscription Box

Love With Food is a subscription program that delivers a delightful assortment of organic gourmet snacks and food. Each month you’ll receive a curated box with a good balance of adventurous items and a slightly new twist on old favorites. Our family fought over the items in the box I received for review. It’s a fun way to try new-to-you foods.  For each box you purchase, Love With Food will also donate a meal to hungry children in America. Boxes start at $10 a month with free shipping.

Love with Food Rachael Ray Offer

COUPON: Save $5 off a Love With Food subscription FESTIVE2013  (valid till 12/1).  Also, purchase a 6- and 12- month subscriptions by 12/1, and receive a bonus 2-year subscription to Rachel Ray magazines!

Keurig Platinum Brewing System

I feel like we’re the last family to own a Keurig Brewing System. We don’t have one yet but I’m putting this here as a hint for the husband. I’ve used them in hotel rooms and seen demos in stores. I definitely like the convenience factor and how I can get K-cups for coffee, tea and hot chocolate. While I do love my French press, the Keurig is much more appealing now that reusable K-cups are widely available. It also helps that my favorite Louisiana Community Coffee now offers K-cups.

Tramontina 6 qt enameled dutch oven

I recently upgraded my wee 3 quart dutch oven to the Tramontina 6.5 Qt Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven and I’m in love with it. It comes in some vibrant colors. I chose red (no surprise there) but it comes in gorgeous cobalt blue. I’ve had mine for two months now and have used it to bake meatballs, make a pork roast and cook my sausage, kale and butternut squash soup. This dutch oven is half the price of a smilarly sized Le Creuset dutch oven. Use the money you saved for groceries to cook in your new dutch oven.

Kati Tea Brewing System

There’s no doubt that loose tea tastes much better than most bagged tea. I use my Tea Forte KATI Tea Brewing System weekly to brew a cup of tea to keep my warm when I’m working at my desk.  The ceramic mug comes in beautiful, elegant designs and the lid converts to a holder for your tea once it’s done brewing. It’s also microwaveable in case you’re distracted by your children and you tea gets cold. Not that I’ve ever had to do that.

If you’d rather use an infuser, I’ve been considering getting one of these whimsical infusers: DCI Tea Rex Tea Infuser or Sir Tea Infuser.  I’m afraid the kids might steal them from me if I get one.

Don’t forget your little chefs in your home. Encourage your children to help out in the kitchen with mini-versions of your favorite kitchen utensils:  whiskrolling pin, or spatula. Aren’t they cute? I have one of each for Jaxson and Sophia so they don’t fight over them.
