Holiday Gift Guide for Foodies Big and Small

Anyone who knows a foodie knows that good eats is always on the horizon. I’m the foodie in our family, but the kids are starting to develop palates more exciting than chicken nuggets and mac’n’cheese. Thank goodness! Whether your foodie loves to cook or just appreciates delicious food, I’ve put together a list of gifts that I wouldn’t mind unwrapping this Christmas. I might even share that bacon of the month box with my family. Maybe.

Make sure to bookmark this post because some of these stores have some awesome Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. I’ll update the post as it goes live.

Holiday Gift Guide For Foodies Big and Small

For Kids in the Kitchen

Matching Mother Daughter Flirty Aprons for Foodie Gift Guide

Matching mother-daughter aprons from Flirty Aprons

Matching Mother Daughter Aprons. Since both kids were little,we’ve enjoyed baking and cooking together. Now that Sophia is older, we’re cooking side-by-side in the kitchen. I surprised her with these matching mother daughter aprons from Flirty Aprons. They’re super cute and comfortable. For some reason, just donning our aprons makes our mother-daughter time in the kitchen feel more special. I’m thinking about buying a few more so I have one to wear while cooking and another “hostess” apron that I can wear while entertaining guests. Very 1950s of me, I know. Flirty Aprons has aprons for girls, boys, and men too.

Yum For Kids Magazine

Yum Food & Fun for Kids magazine: We discovered this magazine in our pediatrician’s office and Sophia excitedly bookmarked half of the recipes. Filled with fun, kid friendly recipes and easy to follow instructions. There’s a good mix of recipes that kids can make themselves and recipes that need adult guidance. I’m a firm believer that kids who help cook their own food are more open to trying new foods. Kids will love receiving this quarterly magazine in the mailbox.

National Geographic Kids Cookbook: A Year-Round Fun Food Adventure This book does covers everything by offering fun recipes that kids can make, arts and crafts, and activities for a tasty culinary adventure. There’s a chapter for each month of the year and recipes to fit its theme. When I get cookbooks for the kids, I give them a set of Post-It Tabs to mark all the recipes they want to try out. You can even color code them for each child.

Love With Food Snack Box

While this subscription snack box isn’t specifically geared towards kids, the boxes make my kids excited to try new to them snacks. Once I’ve discovered a snack they like, I can pack it in their lunch box or pick up larger package for after school snacks. Love with Food boxes contain organic or all-natural products and never contain high-fructose corn-syrup. They even offer a gluten-free box. You can choose between the regular or deluxe box, depending on how much your family snacks. Order by 12/1 to receive the December box.

Gifts for Foodies Who Get Thirsty

Star Trek Ice Tray: Calling all Star Trek fans! Why not float the USS Enterprise in your next cocktail or glass of iced tea? These are also good for making gelatin or making new crayons out of broken ones (just get a separate one for food use).

Death Star Ice Mold

If you prefer Star Wars, try out the Death Star ice mold.

DeLonghi Nescafe Dolce Gusto Genio Coffeemaker: I fell in love with this single serve coffeemaker at BlogHer. Everyone talks about the Keurig, but if you want coffee shop style drinks at home, you need the Dolce Gusto. I’m currently on my second cup of the Dolce Gusto Skinny Cappuccino as I’m writing this. The machine steamed and frothed my milk and just the right amount of espresso was added. Purchasing a single serve coffeemaker is an investment, but in the long run, you’re saving yourself from $5 coffee shop mochas. The Dolce Gusto also has hot chocolate (chococino) capsules, which the kids love. The hot chocolate was creamy and very flavorful. My husband who used to work in a Seattle’s Best was impressed by this coffeemaker. It’s also small, which I’m grateful for because counter space is a premium in my kitchen.

Choco*Latte Organic Tea Gift Canister
American Choco*Latte Tea

Choco*Latte Organic Tea Gift Canister from American Tea Room: I’ve been on the hunt for a chocolate tea that actually tastes like chocolate. I finally found Choco*Latte from American Tea Room. Its blend of cacao husks, vanilla bean and rooibos emits a sweet dark chocolate aroma without becoming too overwhelming. The cacao husks give it a nutty flavor too. If you sweeten it and add a bit of milk, the chocolate flavor will stand out. I loved it. If you’re not a fan of chocolate tea, American Tea Room has many different blends to choose from. Isn’t my teacup pretty?

BLACK FRIDAY SPECIAL: 20% Off Sitewide Including Select Sale Items, code STOCKING (Good until 12/8/14)

SodaStream Fountain Jet Home Soda Maker Starter Kit: Now that prices have gone down a bit, I purchased my very first SodaStream. I love drinking carbonated flavored water and got tired of spending all of my money buying cans and bottles of sparkling water. Why not save some cash and be more green by carbonating my own water? We’ve only had it for 2 days, but I already know that it’ll help me drink more water. You can buy syrups to make soda, but I’m just added freshly squeezed lemons or frozen raspberries in my water to flavor it naturally. The machine was super easy to setup and we carbonated our first bottle in minutes.

California Wine Club Also on my wish list is a subscription to California Wine Club. Do you ever find yourself wandering the aisles of your wine shop, trying to figure out what’s good, only to end up picking a bottle because you like the label? Is it just me? I’ve learned the hard way that labels are not an indication of how good a bottle of wine is. California Wine Club takes out the guess work. Depending on the package you choose, you’ll receive regular shipments of award winning wines delivered straight to your door. You’ll also receive Uncorked, a guide with details and tasting notes on the wines, wine tips and insight to California’s wine scene. Subscriptions start at $39.95 and you can decide if you want monthly, every other month or quarterly shipments.

CYBER MONDAY DEALGive a 3-month Premier Series holiday subscription as a holiday gift and get free shipping SHIPFREE14. $39 will be deducted from your order. Good thru Dec 15th.

Gifts For Foodies Who Love to Cook

Cuisinart Immersion Blender

Cuisinart Smart Stick 2-Speed Immersion Hand Blender: Of all the small electric appliances in my kitchen, this is the one I use the most. It’s great for making smoothies, pureeing tomato soups or emulsifying a vinaigrette. Now it even comes in different colors! And it’s easy to clean. I love a good multitasker in the kitchen.

Pioneer Woman cupcake stand

Pioneer Woman Cupcake StandThis stand is on my Christmas list for two reasons: it’s super cute and I’ve need a small cake stand for my food photography. Plus it gives me more reasons to bake cupcakes.

Saveur Magazine is my all-time favorite food magazine. It offers a mix of recipes, food lore, and food history with an international flair. I can travel the world from the comfort of my couch (or kitchen).

What are you giving your favorite foodie for Christmas?
