My Latest Addiction: Parenthood TV Series

Every since I finished watching the Battlestar Galactica and its spin off Caprica, I’ve been at a loss for what to watch next. I’ve been speed dating various television series on my beloved Netflix, but none of them pulled my heartstrings. Or made me laugh. Humor is very sexy, you know.

Then, on a whim, I actually clicked on something that Netflix recommended for me. (I know!). I started watching the tv show Parenthood (based off the movie with the same name). In minutes I was hooked. First of all, it’s an all-star cast. Talented actors. It’s a drama, but it’s still sexy. I love how much depth the characters have. The Braverman family dynamics are real and honest. Raw at times. The writing superb.

My friends warned me several weeks ago that I should keep tissues handy when I watch the tv show. I scoffed at them. Until this week, as I viewed the last few episodes from season two. I was bawling. I usually watch it while I work at my desk, but I did not get very much work done that evening. Season three started off with some big changes in the Braverman family and I’m just as addicted.

I also love that there are interracial relationships on the show. The plot line for these characters don’t revolve around race, but rather treats them as real people.

Oh, and I can’t stand Haddie. That teenager doesn’t know how good she has it!

Have you seen the show? What are you watching these days?

I pay for my own Netflix subscription, mostly so my kids can watch The Fresh Beat Band and get those songs stuck in my head. This post contains affiliate links.
