Before I look ahead into 2017, I wanted to close out this year. Track my accomplishments and lessons learned. I had to look up what my 2016 word was. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m so off track that I forgot or if I’ve been immersed in too many things. Is it sad I had to search for my previous blog post to remember?
My 2016 word was Execute.
Looking back at the past twelve months, I think I did a decent job of executing my ideas. I’m the sort of person who can get stuck in research mode and waits for the perfect moment to implement. This is also known as procrastination.
2016 was a good year for me. I’ve been focused on building my subscription box business, which really means building a safe, fun community to talk about romance books, relationships, and sex. Learning how to execute my ideas also meant I spent less time “working.” I still struggle with turning off my work brain at night and during the weekend, but I’m getting better at it. As long as you don’t count November and December. Ha!
My word of the year for 2017 is Build.
I accomplished many of my goals this year and learned many lessons. 2017 is the the time for me to build upon the foundation I’ve set and rise even higher.
I’m taking a break over the holidays to unplug and spend time with my family. Part of that time will also be a mini retreat so I can set my goals for the next twelve months.
2017, I’m ready for you–after my much needed break. Here’s to a new year and new beginnings!
