Um, I had no intention of strapping myself to some contraction and flying down a mountainside. Nope.
Then I met Heather and Anne at Evo Conference. Anne missed out on the zip line last year and talked it up the entire weekend. Then Heather decided she wanted to do it. I cave to peer pressure. Sometimes. I was a little scared, but thought, when else will I have the opportunity to zip line?
Evo had been such an amazing weekend already, zip lining with some new friends would be the cherry on top. I was excited and scared at the same time.
We waited in line for almost two hours. It was cold on that mountain. We watched as each person before us was strapped in their harness and put their feet up against the gate. Then the gates fell away and down they went. Damn, the anticipation was awful. Just freaking awful.
Heather and I kept each other distracted from the idea of falling down the gorgeous Utah scenery but talking kids, books, even our birth stories. Nothing like bonding over the idea of falling to your death. (Ok, I'm totally being dramatic.)

When it was finally our turn, we might have screamed like little girls. Well, I don't remember if Heather screamed or not but I sure did.
It was freaking. awesome.
The wind in my hair. The gorgeous mountains before me. I wish I had been brave enough to take a video as I went down. The high was absolutely amazing. I felt such a sense of accomplishment!
I think I want to do it again.
