Shucking My Responsibilities

Today is my first ever kid-free day in my home. Usually my kid-free time is off at some conference that I'm attending or speaking at. In case you missed my jubilation, my sister took the kids to hang out with my parents for 2 weeks. I just called to check on them and I barely got a hello before they ran out to the pool. That's exactly what I was hoping for.

Don't hate for what I'm about to say, ok?

I slept in this morning. Until 8:30. AM. Yep. Then I lounged in bed for a couple of hours and watched morning shows. First, I never get to lounge in bed unless the kids decide to use me as a trampoline. Second, my morning tv usually consists of YoGabbaGabba or My Little Pony. While I watched Josh Groban (who is surprising funny) and Kelly Ripa banter, I played games on my iPad.

It felt so luxurious. I finally dragged myself out of bed to take a shower. Now that I've fed myself and sat down at my desk, I don't even feel like working. I had already planned to visit a museum this afternoon before meeting hubby for dinner and our second movie date this week (we started last night).

Now I don't even feel like working. I think I'm going to get dressed and hit the road. It's the second hottest day of the summer so far in DC, but I don't care!

I hope you all are having a good time. If not, I'll make sure to do it for you!
