DC Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade
Posted in DC Events, family time, Lunar New Year on 9:53 AM by Thien-Kim aka KimWe didn't plan on going to the Chinatown Lunar New Year parade, but after we drove all the way to northern Virginia to find out that the Tet festival was not happening, well it seemed the best thing to do. Sophia was very disappointed that there was no festival on Sunday (we missed Saturday's festival).
I'm glad we fought DC traffic. Aside from the crazy grown ups pushing kids out of the way for a better view and to pose for pictures, we had a good time. Sophia even received some gold chocolate coins from the parade walkers (perfomers?). The parade was much shorter than I remembered, but usually it's freezing cold during this time of the year. I guess we lucked out this year.
After the parade, we even hit up a crepe stand for a cheddar cheese crepe. I think that was the best part of the parade!
