Mom 2.0 Summit Here I Come!

2011 Mom 2.0 Summit - April 14-16

It’s my first time speaking at a blogging conference, Mom 2.0 Summit to be exact.

I’m no stranger to New Orleans. I’m no stranger to speaking in front of groups of strangers. I stand up and talk about sex and sex toys in front of strangers every weekend.

Speaking in front of my a peers will be a bit different. I’m excited to be on the same panel as Sande Angulo ChenDeb RoxMir Kamin, and Polly Pagenhart. Our workshop is Welcome to the 21st Century: A New Look at The New Family on Saturday at 11am CST. If you’re not attending the conference, I hope you follow the tweets. We’ll be talking about diversity, bloggers, and why markets should look to us as trendsetters.

I also get to play with the new Windows Phone from AT&T, the Samsung Focus while I’m at the conference as well. Just its thinness and screen size is putting my Samsung Transform to shame. You know I love my Android apps, so I’ll report back and let you know how they compare. So far, I love the Twitter interface. I like it much better than my Twidroyd app. The phone also has 8GB of built in memory so I might even use it take some video during Mom 2.0.

I plan to take a look at their app market and see what phone apps are available. The phone comes with min-versions of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. I haven’t tried them yet as I’m a Google Docs kinda gal. One downside I see to the MS Office products is that the documents are not easily synced. I would have to email them to myself to have access to the new version of my documents on another device.

Right now, hubby has been playing with the Windows Phone and will barely let me touch it. I think he’s ready to upgrade to a smartphone! Thanks to Windows Phone for sponsoring me for Mom 2.0!

I’m looking forward to hanging out with blogging friends that I have yet to meet in person or have only seen once. Thanks to the Clever Girls Collective, I’ll be hosting a small beignets and/or daiquiri gathering sometime over the weekend. If you haven’t joined the Clever Girls Collective yet, I highly recommend that you do. They know how to work with brands and treat bloggers with lots of respect. Plus they’re fun to hang out with!

There are so many amazing panels and speakers at Mom 2.0. I always feel so at home with a group of bloggers. It doesn’t matter if I’m a small fish hanging out with the big fish. That’s what I love about the blogging community!

I can’t wait to eat some more delicious Louisianian food (I been hanging out in Baton Rouge with my family) and drink a daiquiri!

Disclosure: Microsoft Windows Phone has provided me with a Windows Phone and a sponsorship to Mom 2.0 Summit. Clever Girls Collective is sponsoring my beignets/daiquiri get together. As always, all opinions are my own.
