Momz Share Night Out!

Have you ever been around a group of people and just felt right at home? Even if you didn’t know everyone?

That’s how I felt this Saturday at Momz Share, a networking event for DC Metro women bloggers. It definitely justified staying up late to sew a skirt just to wear to the event.

There were a lot of great baskets for the charity auction. We also raised over $1,400 for American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and Team Why Mommy. Pretty cool huh? That’s on top of the $1,000 Bit Defender donated.

If you haven’t checked out Bit Defender’s new group BitMoms, for parents who are conscious about online safety for themselves and their families, you should join. It’s a new group, but there’s a great community and I’m looking forward to learning more about online safety, especially since Sophia can practically operate my computer by herself. (How did that happen?)

Of course it couldn’t be a party without wine, food, and great mini-desserts. Who could ask for more?

I made some new friends and hung out with my bloggy buddies. Check out my new friend Margy’s blog, Hide the Cheese. She has some yummy pictures of the food she cooks with her kids.AND, she’s so modest. She didn’t tell me that she was up for Babble’s 50 Best Mom Food Blogger Award. Go vote!

Special thanks to Jessica at A Parent In Silver Spring for hosting. Little Gym of Silver Spring was a pretty fun location. I’d never been there before.

If you’re local, I hope to see you at the next one!
